Attorney Updates to Court Systems

Attorney/Firm Change of Address or Name:

When an attorney leaves a firm and begins to practice with another firm or when a firm relocates and/or changes its name, it is vital to provide any changes to both the Office of Attorney Ethics and to the Superior Court Clerk’s Office as follows:

1. Contact the Office of Attorney Ethics to change any and all information pertaining to your current place of employment.  (ex. Firm Name, Address, Phone Number, E-mail Address)  You may update your information online at:  www.judiciary.state.nj.us/attyreg/index.htm or fax your request to: (609) 530-5238,  Attn: Attorney Registration

2. Once your information has been updated with the Office of Attorney Ethics, send your Firm or Attorney Update Form via e-mail to: PublicAccess.Mailbox@judiciary.state.nj.us. Please begin the subject heading with “Attorney Database Updates – Your Firm/Attorney Name.” (whichever is being updated).  Within your email, state that you have updated your information with the Office of Attorney Ethics.  Alternatively, you can fax your request to the Superior Court Clerk’s Office at: (609) 826-7020.

JEFIS Registrations & Updates

Before submitting your firm’s JEFIS registration for processing, or updating your information within JEFIS, you must do the following:

1. Contact the Office of Attorney Ethics to change any and all information pertaining to your current place of employment.  (ex. Firm Name, Address, Phone Number, E-mail Address) You may update your information online at:  www.judiciary.state.nj.us/attyreg/index.htm or fax your request to: (609) 530-5238;  Attn: Attorney Registration.If you have any questions, contact the Office of Attorney Ethics at: (609) 530-4008

2. Contact the Superior Court Clerk’s Office to register for JEFIS or to update your information in JEFIS.

New JEFIS Registrants: After your information has been updated with the Office of Attorney Ethics,
you can follow the instructions on the JEFIS Link shown below to submit your JEFIS Registration.

JEFIS Updates:  Once your information has been updated with the Office of Attorney Ethics, send your JEFIS Update Form via e-mail to: PublicAccess.Mailbox@judiciary.state.nj.us.   Please begin the subject heading with “JEFIS Updates – Firm Name.”  Within your email, state that you have updated your information with the Office of Attorney Ethics.  Click the link below for the JEFIS Update Form.
Note: This form is not to be used for an attorney changing firms, only to update current information.
