The New Jersey courts play an important role in the lives of many New Jersey residents. The courts help people and organizations resolve their disagreements peacefully.

They also protect our rights, they keep our communities safe, they help children and families, and they help offenders improve their lives.

Most of all, they uphold the U.S. Constitution and the New Jersey Constitution, as well as the laws and statutes that were created by our elected officials.

Find out more about how the courts help the people of New Jersey by looking through our kids pages.

Thank you to the students at New Jersey Institute of Technology for creating the Judiciary kids' page as part of their NJIT Capstone Program.
