Supreme Court Committee on Women Co-Hosts Communication Boot Camp for New Attorneys
The Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts will co-host an educational event for new attorneys with Seton Hall University School of Law. The panel discussion will be held on Monday, Sept. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. in room 273 at the law school, One Newark Center, Newark.
Titled “Communication Boot Camp: How to Communicate in the 21st Century,” the panel will discuss communication skills needed to succeed in getting a job, being effective in the courtroom, and communicating with clients and colleagues. The panel is co-sponsored by Seton Hall Law School’s Office of Career Services, Women’s Law Forum and the Latin American Law Students Association.
Appellate Judge Francine I. Axelrad, who chairs the committee, will give welcoming remarks.
"Now, more than ever, lawyers entering the field need clear advice and specific guidance on how to communicate effectively, not only in person and in writing, but also using email and mobile devices, which have changed completely the way lawyers communicate," said Judge Axelrad.
The panel will be moderated by attorney Heather Suarez, who is a member of the committee. Others on the panel are Superior Court Judge Darrell M. Fineman; Alan Sobel, a certified public accountant; and attorneys Robert L. Penza, Catherine P. Wells, and Sapana S. Shah, who is also a committee member.
Attendance is free and no registration is required.
