Supreme Court Sets Nov. 14 as New Date for Argument in COAH Case
The New Jersey Supreme Court has rescheduled oral argument in A-90/91/92/93/94-10 IMO Adoption of N.J.A.C. 5:96 (COAH), for Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Supreme Court courtroom on the 8th floor of the Hughes Justice Complex, 25 Market St., Trenton. (Are these "third-round" rules adopted by the Council on Affordable Housing under the Fair Housing Act N.J.S.A. 52:27D-301 to -329.19, which establish municipalities' obligations to provide affordable housing, invalid because they include a compliance mechanism that involves use of a "growth share methodology”?)
If a reservation for a seat in the court room was in place for Wednesday, Nov. 7, that seat will be held for Nov. 14. Call the Judiciary communications officer at 609-292-9580 if an existing seat reservation should be cancelled.
Seating for the media is limited and will be reserved in the order requests are received. Only one seat will be reserved for each news organization. Reporters should be seated by 9:45 a.m. Unoccupied reserved seats will be given to reporters on a waiting list at 9:50 a.m. Allow time for passing through security in the Justice Complex lobby. Photo ID is required, preferably a driver’s license.
The argument also will be available live on the Judiciary website, judiciary.state.nj.us.
News organizations must make arrangements for still or video cameras in the courtroom through the Judiciary communications office, according to the Supreme Court guidelines. If demand for space is high, photographers will use a pooling arrangement. The communications office will provide further information on pooling when photographers call for reservations.
