Additional Members Added to Board on Continuing Legal Education
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner today signed an order naming three additional members to the Board on Continuing Legal Education.
Engy Abdelkader, an attorney with Legal Services of New Jersey, Inc., is a past president of the Muslim Lawyers Association and author of A Muslim Woman’s Guide to Her Civil Rights: When Faith Practices Trigger Discrimination in America.
Ivette Alvarez is a former chair of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association and a past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey. She is employed by Einhorn Harris Ascher Barbarito & Frost P.C.

According to Court Rule 1:42, which was recently adopted by the Supreme Court, all New Jersey attorneys are required to take 24 hours of continuing legal education every two years. The new court rule also calls for the Supreme Court to create a board on continuing legal education to administer the legal education program in accordance with the new rule. Supreme Court Justice Roberto A. Rivera-Soto was named board chair and retired Superior Court Judge Arthur N. D’Italia was named vice-chair. Acting Administrative Director of the Courts Glenn A. Grant, J.A.D., also will serve on the board. The full list of board members is attached.
