Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection Offers Attorneys Convenient Online Registration
The Attorney Online Registration and Payment Center is now accepting payments for the 2008 assessment, announced Kenneth J. Bossong, director of the New Jersey Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection (LFCP). The site link is located at the center of the New Jersey Courts' home page at judiciary.state.nj.us.
Now in its second year of statewide operation, the online payment center received online payments from 11,000 of the state's 80,000 registered attorneys last year.
"We have received very positive feedback praising the convenience and ease of our payment Web site," said Supreme Court Clerk Stephen Townsend. "We encourage all New Jersey attorneys to consider the online payment option."
The online payment center allows attorneys to pay the annual assessment at any time, from any location. Attorneys can receive instant confirmation that their payment has been received and print out a receipt for their payment for their records. There is no additional charge to use the payment center, which accepts MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
Attorneys who used the payment system last year can log on at njcourtsonline.com and enter their user name and password. Attorneys in good standing who have not yet used the Center will be able to do so later this month after receiving the 2008 billing form. The form will include individualized log-in details. Firm (group) payments will be accommodated in the future.
