Passaic County Probation Vo-Tech Program Completes Fifth Cycle
On Wednesday, May 31, 2006, twenty-five students from Passaic County Probation’s Vo-Tech program will be honored for completing a 15-week program in which they learned one of six trades as well as prepared for their General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
The program allows juvenile probationers between the ages of 17 and 25 to choose between culinary arts, medical arts, carpentry, plumbing, automotive or business graphics. In addition, the students must prepare for their GED if they do not have a high school diploma or equivalent. This is the fifth cycle of this program, which is funded by a grant from the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General/ Division of Criminal Justice.
“This is a great program that offers a life-altering opportunity. These juveniles have been given tools that can allow them to turn their lives around,” stated Chief Probation Officer John Krieger.
The ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Passaic County Technical Institute 45 Reinhardt Road, Wayne, NJ. For seating information, please contact Kim Casamassina at 973-247-8747.
