Wayne Resident Tapped to Lead Municipal Courts in Passaic County

Gordon Muth has been named Municipal Court Division manager for Passaic Vicinage effective September 19, Assignment Judge Robert J. Passero announced today.

Judge Murner, presiding judge of the municipal courts for Passaic Vicinage, expressed his approval: "I am confident that the people of this county will benefit from Gordon's experience and commitment to the Judiciary," he said.

The Municipal Courts Division manager works closely with the presiding judge of the municipal courts to oversee the work of the Municipal Court Division and, as an integral member of the vicinage management team, reports to the trial court administrator for the Passaic Vicinage. Passaic County has sixteen municipal courts that together received more than 300,000 new case filings last year.

Mr. Muth has spent 26 years in the judicial system. He began his career in 1979 as an intake officer and has served as director of the juvenile unit, supervising probation officer, assistant chief of probation and, most recently, assistant Family Division manager. He has an M.A. in urban education and community affairs from William Paterson University and a B.A. in psychology from The King's College in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. He also is a graduate fellow of the Institute of Court Management's Court Executive Development Program.

"I am honored to be given this responsibility and I look forward to serving the people of Passaic County in this new capacity," said Mr. Muth.

Mr. Muth resides in Wayne with his wife and two daughters.
