Union County Courts to Sponsor Free Seminar Series
The Union Vicinage of the New Jersey Judiciary is now accepting reservations for the first in a series of seminars on issues affecting the community. From 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Stephen Samson Center at 800 Anna St. in Elizabeth, three sessions will be offered: the first session is about the public's rights and responsibilities with regard to DYFS issues, the second will focus on immigration, and the third will explain the expungement of criminal records. Participants will be able to attend up to two of the workshops by calling 908-282-7607 to reserve seats.
The Hon. Rudolph N. Hawkins, (Ret.), a former juvenile court judge with Union County Superior Court, will give the keynote address. Another seminar focusing on bail, drug offenses and domestic violence issues will be held in the fall. This series is sponsored by the Union Vicinage Minority Concerns Advisory Board's Community Outreach Committee.
