Monmouth Vicinage Continues Law Day 2005 Celebration

The Superior Court of New Jersey, Monmouth Vicinage and the Monmouth Bar Association are continuing their Law Day 2005 celebration with a series of community outreach programs.

On May 19, students from the Freehold Borough Intermediate School will attend a program about legal careers at the Monmouth County Courthouse.

On Friday, May 20 an informational program for teachers, librarians, and community leaders will be held at the Monmouth County Courthouse, 71 Monument St., Freehold from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Presentations will be made by court managers on court programs, jobs (including internships), volunteer and vendor opportunities.

On Saturday, May 21 a community information session and "Ask a Lawyer" program will be held at the Asbury Park Municipal Council Chambers, 1 Municipal Plaza, Asbury Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Topics include domestic violence, child support, expungements, landlord/tenant rights and jobs/volunteer/vendor opportunities. Attorneys from the Monmouth Bar Association and the Ocean-Monmouth Legal Services will offer free 15-minute consultations. Spanish language interpreters will be on hand.

On Saturday, May 21 a community information session will be held at the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, Banquet Conference Center, 133 Throckmorton St., Freehold from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Court representatives will be on hand to provide information and brochures on court services, jobs (including internships), volunteer and vendor opportunities.

These community outreach programs are being co-sponsored with the Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns, the Hispanic Affairs and Resource Center, the NAACP Asbury Park/Neptune Branches and the Ocean-Monmouth Legal Services.
