Camden County Assignment Judge Francis J. Orlando today signed an order, effective immediately, placing oversight of the county surrogate's office under Superior Court Judge Theodore Z. Davis. The Surrogate for Camden County resigned the position on July 20. Judge Davis, who was appointed to the bench in 1981, will continue his work as a Chancery Division judge.
"We are very grateful to Judge Davis for agreeing to accept these added responsibilities," said Judge Orlando.
The appointment will be effective until further Order of the Court, or until a Surrogate for Camden County qualifies for the position, through either appointment by the governor or by being elected November 2000.
