The New Jersey Administrative Office of Courts announced today that Richard D. Prifold is the new Trial Court Administrator for the Ocean vicinage. Located in Toms River, the vicinage (or court district) has a staff of more than three hundred.
The appointment to the highest non-judicial post in the vicinage caps a long and varied career with the court. Prifold had served as Assistant Trial Court Administrator since 1990. Prior to that he was the vicinages first manager in the Family, Civil, and Human Resource divisions. He has been a probation officer and director of the pretrial intervention program. He has also had substantial experience in the Criminal Division.
Prifolds appointment will ensure continuity in vicinage operations, according to Assignment Judge Eugene Serpentelli, chief administrative judge for the vicinage. Prifold replaces Frank Kirkleski, who retired in 1999.
Prifold received his baccalaureate degree from Monmouth University in 1971 and a masters degree in Human Development from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1977. He lives in Toms River.
