The Municipal Court Mediation Volunteer Program.
Community Dispute Resolution Progra.m.
The Municipal Court Mediation Program provides an avenue for community members to resolve disputes such as noise complaints, pet complaints and property disputes outside of the traditional route of litigation. Volunteer mediations act as neutrals and meet with disputing parties to aid them in resolving their differences and to aid them in reaching a mutually acceptable solution to their dispute. The Supreme Court has mandated that this program be made available to all citizens across the State for use as an alternate to having cases heard and decided by a judge. Program volunteers are required to complete mandated program-specific training.
Time Requirement: Six hours per month.
If you would like to become a volunteer for the Municipal Court Mediation Volunteer Program, please email Linda.Nelson@judiciary.state.nj.us
