Re: Revisions to the Uniform Traffic Ticket, the Special
Form of Complaint and Summons, and the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Ticket
[Parking Authority Ticketing System (PATS) Project]
Attached (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format) are
revised specimens of the Uniform Traffic Ticket (UTT-1 and UTT-2) and the
Special Form of Complaint and Summons (SF-1 and SF-2), as well as the
Instructions that prescribe the use of these forms in the Municipal Courts. The
new forms and Instructions were promulgated for use on December 15, 2001. Use
of the previous versions of these forms was authorized through June 1, 2002 in
order to allow existing supplies of the previous versions to be exhausted. As
of June 1, 2002, however, only the attached revised specimens of the Uniform
Traffic Ticket and the Special Form of Complaint and Summons are authorized for
use in the Municipal Courts.
On December 15, 2001, the attached specimens
and Instructions for use of revised versions of the New Jersey Uniform
Electronic Ticket (PATS-1 and PATS-2) also were promulgated. These new
electronic tickets were designed for use in connection with a planned equipment
upgrade for the Parking Authority Ticketing System (PATS) project. They are
reduced in size to accommodate new, smaller and lighter hand-held
ticket-issuing hardware. In December, Municipal Courts were notified that the
previous version of the PATS form was authorized for use until June 1, 2002, in
order to allow existing supplies to be exhausted. However, the new PATS
technology will not be in place by June 1, 2002 and the revised PATS-1 and
PATS-2 forms cannot be used until the technology upgrade is completed.
Therefore, the previous versions of the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Ticket
(attached as ET-1 and ET-2) are authorized for continued use with the currently
available PATS equipment beyond June 1, 2002. As each participating parking
authority or agency is converted to the new technology, only the PATS-1 or
PATS-2 forms, designed for use with the new equipment, will be authorized in
that jurisdiction.
