IT IS ORDERED that on Friday, November 27, 2009, the Supreme Court, the Appellate Division, the Superior Courts, and the Tax Court shall be in recess, except for emergent matters; this amends the July 23, 2008 order setting out the schedule of court holidays and recesses for the court year commencing July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010; and
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, in response to the ongoing fiscal crisis facing the state and in accordance with the memoranda of agreement between the Judiciary and the collective bargaining units, Friday, November 27, 2009 shall be a furlough or temporary layoff day for all Judiciary non-judge employees, with all supporting operations of the state courts, including the Administrative Office of the Courts and the Clerks’ Offices, thus to be closed on that date, except for emergent matters; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this date on which the New Jersey state courts will be in recess and the clerks’ offices and other supporting operations closed, in the computation of time periods under the Rules of Court and any statutes of limitation, shall be deemed the same as a legal holiday, with the time periods and statutes of limitations tolled for state court matters.

This Order shall not apply to the Municipal Courts.
