CDR Committee's Evaluation Report on the Economic Mediation Pilot -- Comments Request

The Supreme Court invites written comments on the Final Report on the Evaluation of the Pilot Program for Mediation of Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases submitted by the Supreme Court Committee on Complementary Dispute Resolution ("CDR Committee") and published with this notice. While the CDR Committee prepared this report in May 2005, it was held in abeyance pending the CDR Committee's submission of its report on mediator compensation, which has since been published for comment. The report, with all of the appendices, is also available at on the Judiciary's Internet website.

Please send any written comments on the CDR Committee's report by Monday, May 22, 2006 to:

Written comments on the CDR Committee report may also be submitted via Internet e-mail to the following address: The Supreme Court likely will be acting on this report in June 2006.

The Supreme Court will not consider written comments submitted anonymously. Thus, those submitting comments by mail should include their name and address (and those submitting comments by e-mail should include their name, e-mail address, and address). However, comments submitted in response to this notice will be maintained in confidence if the author specifically requests confidentiality. In the absence of such a request, the author's identity and his or her comments may be subject to public disclosure after the Court has acted on the CDR Committee's report.

Please also note that the previously announced May 23, 2006 rules hearing will be the forum for any oral comments on the CDR Committee's evaluation report as well. See Supreme Court Clerk Stephen Townsend's April 5, 2006 Notice to the Bar advising of the scheduling of that hearing and setting out the logistics and advance registration requirements.
