Failure to Report
Jurors who fail to report as summoned are subject to a $500 fine or may be punished for contempt of court.

Smoking Policy
The courthouse is a non-smoking facility. Jurors may smoke in the outdoor area adjacent to the Juror Assembly Room.
Employment Protection
N.J.S.A . 2B:20-17 protects jurors from employment related retaliation. There are both criminal and civil sanctions. Jury service will not affect unemployment benefits.

Term of Service
Petit jurors' term of service is two days. You must call the recorded message number or check the website after 5:00 p.m. each evening prior to your service to see if you must report. If you are selected during jury selection to sit as a trial juror, you must remain for the duration of jury selection and the trial. Once your service is completed, you may request to be excused if summoned again within three years.
