THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND SUGGESTIONS ARE OFFERED TO ASSIST YOU IN PREPARING FOR SECURITY SCREENING AT THE JUSTICE CENTER.
All persons, including jurors, entering the Hunterdon County Justice Center are subject to security screening. To expedite this process, please observe the following:
All metal objects, including coins, keys, cell phones, cigarette packs and lighters, foil wrappers and large belt buckles will activate the metal detector. Please be prepared to remove these items and place them in the trays provided before entering through the metal detector.
If the metal detector is activated as you pass through, you will be screened by an officer using a hand held detector.
Persons possessing illegal or potentially dangerous items such as pocket knives, pepper spray, scissors, or anything resembling a weapon will not be allowed entry into the building. Violators are subject to prosecution where warranted. The above listed items should be left at home or in your vehicle.
Purses and other carried items, such as brief cases and backpacks will be X-rayed. All illegal items will be confiscated.
The fewer metal items you are carrying, the faster you will pass through the screening area.
Neither the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Office nor the Judiciary will be responsible for items left on County property.
