Morris/Sussex Vicinage Municipal Courts Seek Courtroom Volunteers

The Morris/Sussex Vicinage is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist judges and court staff in the
45 municipal courts in Morris and Sussex counties.

This new program provides the opportunity to learn about the courts and at the same time
provide a vital service to the community. Under the direction of a judge or other court staff,
volunteers can assist with directing and escorting litigants, answering or making phone calls,
data entry, making photocopies, presenting paperwork to judges or court users, and other tasks as
assigned.

Volunteers will receive training and will serve during court sessions. Municipal court sessions
could be held during day or evening hours, depending on the particular court. Prospective
volunteers must be fingerprinted for a background check.

Anyone interested in volunteering in one of these court programs should contact Municipal
Division Manager Tricia Nikiel at 973-656-3979 for more details.
