The New Jersey Board on Continuing Legal Education has published a searchable catalog of upcoming continuing legal education courses for attorneys. The catalog can be accessed at judiciary.state.nj.us.
“The online catalog lets attorneys find upcoming courses quickly and easily from more than 200 providers on one site,” Supreme Court Clerk Mark said Neary.
Attorneys can look for courses online and then use the contact information listed to find out how to register for the course with the approved service provider. Only upcoming courses are listed. Once a course is completed, it will not be listed in the catalog.
Under New Jersey Court Rule 1:42, attorneys must take at least 24 hours of continuing legal education every two years, including four credits in the area of ethics or professionalism. The catalog lets attorneys find upcoming classes by keyword, by law category, by date, by geographic area and by format, such as live or online. All of the courses listed have been approved by the board. Only courses of providers who sought course approval in New Jersey, and therefore subject to oversight by the board, are listed in the catalog. Courses offered in other states, which might qualify for reciprocal credit in New Jersey, are not included.
