Lady Liberty is Displayed at Justice Complex

JT Briefing Editor
Hudson Vicinage Assignment Judge Maurice J. Gallipoli, artist Charles Barone, Robert Margulies of the Hudson County Bar Association and Judge Glenn A. Grant, acting administrative director of the courts, stand in front of “Lady Liberty,” a stained glass piece, after a dedication ceremony at the Richard J. Hughes Justice Complex in Trenton on Dec. 16.
Barone, a Hudson County native who now lives in Virginia, designed and created “Lady Liberty” in 1987 and dedicated it to American women of accomplishment. The window, which stands 16 feet tall and is 10 feet wide, has been exhibited at the Liberty Science Center at Liberty State Park and in the Justice William J. Brennan Courthouse, both in Jersey City.

The piece is owned by the Hudson County Bar Foundation. It will be displayed at the Justice Complex for three years and eventually will be returned to Hudson County. |
