HUDSON COUNTY CIVIL DIVISION: EMERGENCY CLOSING REGARDING SCHEDULED CASES
CIVIL CASES
If a Civil Case (L) has been listed for trial and the Court is closed due to an emergency, the case will be carried to the next working day. Parties are to report to the Court on the next working day.
If your case has been scheduled for a miscellaneous proceeding (proof, friendly, settlement conference, return date of order to show cause, etc.) and the Court is closed due to an emergency, the proceeding will be rescheduled and you will be notified by the Court of the new date.
SPECIAL CIVIL PART
If a Landlord/tenant (LT) case is listed for a trial and the Court is closed due to an emergency, the matter will be listed for a new date and you will be notified by the Court of the new date.
If a small claims (SC) case is listed for a trial and the Court is closed due to an emergency closing, the matter will be listed for a new date and you will be notified by the Court of a new date.
If a Civil (DC) case is listed for a trial and the Court is closed due to an emergency closing, the matter will be listed for a new date and you will be notified by the Court of the new date.
If your case is listed for a miscellaneous proceeding or a return date on an Order to Show Case and the Court is closed due to an emergency closing, the matter will be listed for a new date and you will be notified by the Court of the new date.
