Court Tour / Speakers Bureau
The Superior Court of New Jersey – Essex Vicinage hosts court tours as a public awareness and community outreach effort. Our courthouse tours familiarize the community with the court complex and demonstrate the legal system at work. Understanding how the courts operate helps the public use the legal system effectively. Tours may include a welcome by a judge, an overview of the courts, a court information package, a guided walk through the court complex and observation of court sessions. Some tours also include a visit to the Sheriff’s Office, a presentation by the Prosecutor’s Office and visits to other court related offices.
Courthouse tours are generally held Monday – Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. based on office staff availability. Therefore, a request should be submitted at least one month prior to the date on which you are looking to visit. Responses to all requests are given within three to five business days.
