The Ombudsman is a neutral staff person who answers questions, addresses concerns from the public and is responsible for enhancing customer service in the courts. The Ombudsman provides a bridge between the courts and the community to enhance public access and improve customer service. Staff in the Office of the Ombudsman answer questions about all court divisions, provide additional assistance to court users who may not understand the status of their court case, the court forms or need referral information about agencies and organizations that offer legal as well as social services to the community. Two of the employees on staff in the office are bilingual. Although staff in the Office are unable to provide legal advice, because court staff must be neutral and impartial, they can help guide court users through the system with as much ease as possible.
