EMERGENT COURT CLOSING INFORMATION

In the event of inclement weather, the closing of the courts and/or court offices will be broadcast on the following radio stations beginning at 6:30 a.m.:

New Jersey 101.5 FM and KYW 1060 AM

Delayed or closed status will specifically state: Burlington County Courts and NOT state offices

Updated postings will be placed on NJ Judiciary’s internet website at: www.njcourtsonline.com

CIVIL DIVISION

EMERGENT COURT CLOSING POLICY FOR ATTORNEYS AND LITIGANTS*

  1. If a matter is listed on a Special Civil Part (DC), Small Claims (SC) or Landlord-Tenant (LT) calendar and the court is closed due to an emergency, please await future written notice from the court.
  2. If you are required to report on a Monday for a trial call, management conference, settlement conference or pre-trial conference in the Law Division and the court is closed due to an emergency, please report the next day court is in session.
  3. If you are required to report on a Tuesday or a Wednesday for a trial call, management conference, settlement conference or pre-trial conference in the Law Division and the court is closed due to an emergency, call the chambers of the individual judge to whom you were to report for instructions on reporting or rescheduling.
  4. If you are required to appear for a conference with Early Intervention Program Team Leader Joel Finklestein, Esquire, please await future written notice from the court. You are also invited to call (609) 518-2818 to find out the new date and time for your conference.
  5. If a Law Division or Special Civil Part trial is in progress, with or without a jury, the court will attempt to anticipate weather issues. If no instructions have been provided, please report the next day court is in session.
  6. If a matter is listed for oral argument on a motion on a regularly scheduled motion day, please report on the next motion day unless you hear to the contrary from the judge’s chambers.
  7. If a matter is listed for a miscellaneous proceeding such as a friendly hearing, proof hearing, plenary hearing or order to show cause, please await further notice from the court.
